The Grapefruit Diet: Day Seven

I was starving this morning, so for breakfast I had four eggs, four slices of bacon, and a half of grapefruit.

Sam and Candy arrived shortly after noon. I ended up not having lunch until dinner. I pretty much reversed lunch and dinner so for "lunch" I had turkey and broccoli and half a grapefruit.

After that we went out for a walk downtown. When we got back I had dinner of salad and ham and half a grapefruit.

Meanwhile I got the old computer hooked back up to the internet on Bob and Tammy's old connection. However the display is still fucked up, and I can't seem to get THIS one fixed. I'm too tired to try now. I think I need a new driver. That's what I did with my new one. See, it won't let me choose anything other than 16 bit color and 600x800 screen size! This makes the color all wonky. Stupid color.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day Six

Today has been horrible. I swear. My cravings are back. I don't know why, maybe it's the weekend, maybe it's knowing Sam and Candy are coming tomorrow, but it's bad. Hopefully I can overcome the temptation. For breakfast I had my usual fare of two fried eggs, two slices of bacon, and a half a grapefruit (Surprise surprise).

After breakfast I went for a bike ride. It sucked. It's the first time I've ridden a bike since I was like, 15. I ended up with a sore butt and weak legs. For lunch I had two left over pieces of fish, and a salad, and a half a grapefruit. (woohoo.)

For dinner I had burger patties and salad and grapefruit.

After dinner I started putting my old computer together in the other room. The stupid keyboard I found doesn't work with it though. Retarded thing. Anyways. The hole is big and round, and the keyboards thing is small.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day Five (aka. Weigh in Day.)

I ended up sleeping in pretty late this morning. I'm not really sure why. But I did. When I woke up mom was home sick again. She wasn't very happy. I had a quick breakfast of half a grapefruit, two hard boiled eggs and two slices of bacon. Then she and I went to the doctors so they could check her out. While there I weighed in. I lost 4 pounds! I'm so happy.

On the way home we stopped at Bob and Tammy's new apartment and I got the 411 on when they were gonna come and pick up the rest of their stuff. She said they were coming tonight. Apparently they'd told dad that, but as I remember they said that then changed to Tuesday once they found out about the rain. They were supposed to come Tuesday but they didn't and Dad wasn't happy. When I told him he wasn't really happy she said they're coming tonight, but since she also said they're giving him $70 they owe, he's not complaining too much. They really should have come and gotten their stuff earlier though, when it wasn't raining. Anyways. When we got home I had a nice lunch of salad (with a yummy balsamic vinegrette dressing) two sausage patties, and half a grapefruit.

Bob and Tammy came to get their stuff. I had dinner while they were here. two pieces of debreaded fish, half a grapefruit, and some carrots! yum?

I was hungry again tonight, so I had some skim milk. I thought about cookies, and donuts, and cake thanks to dad having a craving. The worst was cereal, since the ass was crunching it RIGHT next to me. But I lost 4 pounds, so I ain't ditching all this hard work now yo! I'm sticking with it, and hanging on until next weekend. I'm already fantasizing about what I want though. I'm gonna have a mini pack of Oreos, and a thin mint cookie from the freezer, and either goulash or pizza... I haven't decided. I very much want donuts too... but I dunno.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day Four

Today has gone even better than day three! When I woke up I found mom home sick. She ended up eating breakfast with me, and having toast, and I didn't even care! The cravings are really subsiding now, I'm only really craving two things: Oreos and a Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich (Chocolate Ice Cream inside two Chocolate wafer cookies.)

For breakfast I scrambled up two eggs (without milk) and added some garlic and bits of bacon and made a little omlet type thing (without cheese though.) I had two slices of bacon and a half a grapefruit.

After that Dad called, he had picked up a chicken from Harris Teeter. A premade one, for lunch. So he came home and ate some and saved the rest for us. For lunch Mom and I had some of the chicken, and made a big tossed salad, and I had a half a grapefruit.

Dinner was interesting. I ate pretty late. I had chicken, and two eggs, and two sausages, and green beans and a half a grapefruit. It was good. I'm still not hungry four or five hours later.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day Three

Well, day three has gone better than days one and two. My cravings are subsiding, the addiction will not win! I slept in late today, I'm not sure why, but it was good.

For breakfast I had two fried eggs (num) and two slices of bacon, and a half a grapefruit. After breakfast it was time for the All 80's Lunch Hour on my favorite radio station (Yes, I slept THAT late.) I requested "Vacation" by the Go-Gos, and danced around. You know, "Vacation, all I ever wanted. Vacation, have to get away!" Hee.

For lunch I had a small bowl of lettuce and french dressing and a bunch of deli sliced shaved ham from Oscar Mayer. (On sale until today) and a glass of grapefruit juice. The juice was horrible. and instead of being a buzz kill I just decided to eat grapefruit more than the juice when I can help it.

For dinner I had a very delicious almost gourmet seeming meal, and I made it myself..... well, my dad helped but shh. Don't tell him that. (He claims he killed a dog today because it bit him. There is a definate bitten area but the killing... well I hope not.) Anyways. It was a nice boneless skinless chicken breat with lemon-pepper and garlis seasoning on it (My idea, I made it before they even got home.) and some green beans in butter and garlic and bacon bits and salad seasoning, and a half a grapefruit. It was delicious!!

All in all it's been a good day. Perhaps I have kicked the cravings. I didn't spaz out and be a drama queen once! I'm proud of myself.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day 2

I think today was actually worse than yesterday. The morning went pretty well. Slept in, then had two fried eggs and 2 slices of bacon and a half a grapefruit.

I ate a late lunch that was a little chaotic. Grapefruit Juice (which tasted funny), a small bowl of lettuce with french dressing, and about 5 pieces of ham, the rest of the leftover turkey, and some pepperoni.

After lunch I went with dad, and I ended up getting sick to my stomach. It took all my willpower not to throw up in the car. Eventually it must have went away on it's own because I felt better.

Dinner was better, two burger patties, a half a grapefruit, and some yummy carrots!

The badness though, is that the afternoon through the evening I felt depressed by the way my father was acting around me, and it upset me a lot and so I cried a lot, mostly hiding it from them. Even through my dinner. Then tonight was pretty good. Mom and I watched American Idol and then went out and watched One Tree Hill with dad, but towards the end (while BJL was singing the ass.) he started picking on me, literally, he's a freak and has this little dental pick, and he was pricking my foot with it. I gave him a good "kick -punch- threaten with scissors" combo and hightailed it to my room, while calling my mom a fucking bitch for taking his side without even knowing what he was doing.

Now, I'm starving, but fortunately, bedtime. and my exhaustion outweighs my hunger.

The Grapefruit Diet: Day 1

Today's the first day of my grapefruit diet! It... well it kinda was weird.

Breakfast was fine. I had a glass of grapefruit juice and two poached eggs and two slices of bacon. I tried poaching the eggs the old fashioned way, with boiling water. It didn't work too well. Turns out that's a really messy way to do it. It didn't help the first egg didn't crack right and the yolk broke. It wasn't bad though, they were a little watery though.

Lunch was good. Half a grapefruit and a nice little salad with turkey and chicken and a hard boiled egg in it. I used California French dressing, and it was good.

I was supposed to eat dinner on the road, so I had it preprepared. But we ended up not going. I had a glass of grapefruit juice, and a bit of leftover turkey from the dinner when Aunt Marge was here, that I heated up, and a big salad with tomatos and green peppers, and red onion, and bacon bits, and chicken, and turkey, and hard boiled egg. I had it with Honey Dijon dressing. It would have been better if the turkey and chicken were warm, but oh well.

By 7pm I was about ready to kill someone I was so hungry for a sugary treat. My dad opened a peanut butter cup in the kitchen, and I was in the living room, and I couldn't see it, but I knew. I was watching Buffy and I just froze, and sat up and went "WHO HAS A PEANUT BUTTER CUP?" He found it greatly amusing. I didn't. My sugary sixth sense kicked in and all night was horrible. We went to the store, and they had easter candy out. I almost died. I'm allowed a snack, of skim milk. But by this time I'm swimming in all the water I drank (and that was only 4 of my 8 required glasses.... that I didn't finish.) I also didn't see what good skim milk would do. I was wrong. By halfway through Everwood I felt like I was being tortured my Dad eating Mr. Goodbar bites, and Mom having cheese popcorn (Which I LOVE.) So I had a glass of skim milk, and it worked. It took the edge off. Thank god.

We'll see if tomorrow's any better.

Cousin in a coma, oh no, oh no, it's not serioussss

Don't let the title fool you. She didn't actually go into a coma, she almost did though. Apparently her sugar was pretty high and she got really out of it. As if that's any different than normal. Whatever. Hopefully this will scare her into doing better. Or at least not listening to Bob. I worry though since this little medical expense will actually help them with their new place's rent. I hope that they don't douse her into a sugar coma every couple of months just to get out of rent. That'll kill her. Anyways.

Dad was NOT pleased the Bob seemed to spend all his time at the hospital with her instead of moving. Only, he wasn't, at least not really. Apparently he spent 20 minutes there. Then went to storage to move their stuff out of there. Dad and I got to see their apartment. It's okay, kinda reminds me of a trailer, with a bunch of other trailers stacked on and around it. I have no idea where they're gonna put all their crap though. It's crazy. I don't really care though.

Sugar Coma's and Starbucks

I know it sounds by the title that those are related, but really they're not.

Tammy was sick all night last night, she can't stop throwing up. Of course, they're supposed to move today. Life always works out like that. We finally convinced Bob to take her to the doctors. Good thing too, they sent her to the ER, who then admitted her.

I also had an interview for the new Starbucks going into Mayfair this afternoon at 3:15. It went pretty well. I got a free Mocha Frappuchino or whatever. The cold one. It was heavenly. The interview itself, not as heavenly, but not as bad as some. Cross your fingers.

A artists rendering of what part of Mayfair will look like, eventually, they hope.

High Blood Pressure Woes

I went to the doctor this morning to have my blood pressure checked and some blood drawn. Turns out I must have high blood pressure. She put me on this strict grapefruit diet. I'll start it Monday.

I spent the rest of the day hanging out with dad. We killed some time at the battleship park, and the drawings were still on the basketball court from Tuesday's OTH!

TV's latest trend: Dumber isn't better.

So, here I am perusing my weekly TV GUIDE. I like to see what people are complaining about this week, and what seems to be a good bet as far as next weeks concerned. Oh who am I kidding? I pretty much buy it for the print ads. Sad, I know, but they give me warm fuzzies, one of the simpler joys in life.

As I was flipping pages examining the print ads for various shows, I came across one for George Lopez. It advertised an episode in which Paris Hilton will guest star, as a teacher that George's son Max has the hots for.

I'm sorry, I may have experiance to do it from watching Charmed, but my disbelief will not suspend THAT much. No offense to Paris, but can anyone REALLY picture her as a teacher? Not me. It seems the producers of the show decided that "high ratings" for putting a celebrity of Paris Hilton's status on their show was more important than reserving the show's integrity and casting a believable actress as the teacher. Paris isn't even that pretty! (She's way to coture for my tastes.) There are plenty of other actresses that could pull off that role and still be hot if they wanted. Jeers to George Lopez.
